Research overview

Hybrid arrays and unsynchronized clocks complicate uplink sensing. This work combines frequency smoothing, reference-signal construction, and AB2FM to estimate arrival angles, Doppler shifts, and delays while preserving their association.

THE APPROACH

The method, in three steps.

  1. 01AoA

    Resolve the directions

Beam scanning and frequency smoothing resolve arrival angles for static and moving paths.

  2. 02Reference

    Handle clock offsets

A constructed reference signal reduces the impact of unsynchronized transmitter and receiver clocks.

  3. 03AB2FM

    Estimate delay and Doppler

AoA-based 2D-FFT-MUSIC jointly estimates Doppler and delay.

The MATLAB simulation includes angle estimation, beamforming, and delay–Doppler estimation. Main.m sets up the scenario; Params.m configures the array and signal parameters.
