Research overview
Bistatic passive sensing can observe multiple vehicles using communication signals, but clock offsets interfere with estimation. The method augments snapshots, estimates timing offsets with SWIP-MUSIC, and aligns residual phase before joint delay–Doppler estimation. Simulations examine its behavior with multiple targets.
The method, in three steps.
- 01Snapshots
Augment observations
Forward-backward smoothing augments snapshots for covariance estimation.
- 02SWIP-MUSIC
Estimate and align offsets
Periodogram and MUSIC estimates are combined to recover timing offsets, followed by residual phase alignment.
- 03Delay–Doppler
Recover vehicle parameters
A periodogram-based method jointly estimates target delays and Doppler shifts.
