Install and get started

Install AI-MarkDone from Chrome Web Store or Firefox Add-ons, refresh ChatGPT, and find the reply toolbar, management panel, and settings.

AI-MarkDone is available as a desktop extension for Chrome and Firefox. Use it on ChatGPT after installation; you do not need a separate AI-MarkDone account.

Install from the official store

The current packages declare Chrome 111 and Firefox 128 as their minimum versions. Using your browser’s current stable version is recommended. This site does not provide Safari or mobile-browser packages.

Open it for the first time

  1. Add the extension from the matching store and confirm the installation prompt.
  2. Open ChatGPT, sign in, and enter a conversation with existing replies.
  3. If the tab was already open before installation, refresh it once.
  4. Look below a reply for the AI-MarkDone toolbar. Hover over More to expand actions that are not kept visible, such as Reader, Bookmark, and Export.
  5. Click the AI-MarkDone extension icon in the browser toolbar to open the management panel, then open Settings there.

You can pin the extension icon to the browser toolbar for easier access to Library and Settings. New installations show the message directory by default. Input enhancement can also be adjusted in Settings.

Try one action

  • Keep editable text: choose Copy Markdown, then paste into an editor.
  • Read a long reply: open Reader.
  • Keep something for later: add a bookmark.
  • Write a formula in the input box: see Input formula assistance .

After an update, or when buttons are missing

  1. Confirm the extension is enabled in this browser profile and allowed to access ChatGPT.
  2. Refresh ChatGPT. A tab left open during an extension update may still be running older code.
  3. Wait for the reply to finish. Messages that are still loading, still generating, or are not ordinary replies may not have every action.
  4. Check Settings → Buttons, and look inside More for actions that are hidden or not kept visible.
  5. If the problem remains, record the browser and extension versions and follow Troubleshooting .

Signing out of ChatGPT is usually unnecessary. Do not start by uninstalling the extension to troubleshoot buttons: uninstalling can remove the local Library. Make a backup first.
